Mental Health Resources

Our responders are trained in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) and are able to skillfully respond to mental health calls. To supplement this support, below are a few important resources if you or someone you know is struggling and unsure of where to turn. If you are in danger or in an emergency situation, please contact 911 immediately.

*provides different levels of support including counseling, articles and information,

self-guided courses/programs, and peer support + coaching

 

First Nations, Inuit, and Metis Peoples: 

  • Hope for Wellness Help Line 1-855-242-3310 or https://www.hopeforwellness.ca/ for live chat (24/7 support) → offers emotional support, crisis intervention, and referrals to community-based services (English, French, Cree, Okinway, and Inuktitut available)

  • National Indian Residential School Crisis Line 1-866-925-4419 (24/7 crisis support for former Indian Residential School students and their families)

  • Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls Crisis Line 1-844-413-6649 (24/7 crisis support for individuals impacted by the issue of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ people)

Youth Resources:

  • Kids Help Phone call 1-800-668-6868 or text CONNECT to 686868. (24/7 support to 5-29 year old Canadians who want confidential and anonymous care from trained responders)
